These hands-on workshops will give participants the opportunity and skills to help build a special large community artwork as well as equipping people with know-how to darn, patch and mend any garment!

Joy and Mischief is a craftivist (craft + activist) project with workshops and drop-in opportunities that aims to improve the accessibility of the environmental justice movement. It is facilitated Eav Brennan, an artist living with a disability, who creates collective, politically engaged works of upcycled textile art.

Eav Brennan is an environmental scientist-turned-artist who works with collage, foraged objects and waste materials to tell stories. Her work has been shown internationally, supporting scientists at the UN Climate Conference COP26, the IUCN Rights for Nature Conference as well as many places around Australia. She is currently working with behavioural ecologists and designers to complete a PhD in Graphic Ecology at the UTS School of Design, Architecture and Building.

Drop-in sessions: 

1pm-2pm and 4pm-5pm each day.
