Waverley Council is launching three new community fitness classes from the week of 18 August 2025. Held weekly at various locations, including the Bondi Pavilion, these beginner-friendly, low-impact classes are designed to help you build strength, improve mobility, and boost confidence in a welcoming group setting.
Stength + Stretch Circuit Class
Run by: Cyan Koay
We created Strength and Stretch to support beginners to build strength with confidence, to support the life they want to live. Our Strength & Stretch Small Group Coaching is a cross between personal training and a class: we provide hands-on support with your form and support you to find the right level of challenge while you get to be part of a fun and supportive group environment. We use bodyweight, resistance bands and a sturdy chair to build functional strength, balance and mobility to carry over to everyday activities like walking, hiking, swimming, running – or playing with grandchildren. Please bring your own exercise mat and long loop resistance band to the session if you have them. We will have some bands we can lend you if you do not have a band.
Class runs every Wednesday from 12pm to 1pm in the High Tide Room at Bondi Pavilion.

Barre Basics
Run by: Aly Mc Keown from Body By Berner
Waverley Council is partnering with Body by Berner to bring you an exciting new barre fitness class that's fun, energising and open to all levels.
Ready to feel the burn—without the bounce? Barre Basics is a fun, low-impact class that gives you all the shake, sculpt, and sass of a classic barre workout, with zero jumping and all the good vibes. Think tiny movements, big results. We’ll lift, pulse, and stretch our way through a feel-good mix of Pilates-inspired moves, core work, and sneaky strength training that’ll have your muscles saying “whoa” (in the best way).
Perfect for beginners, comeback queens, or anyone who wants to move their body in a kind, empowering way. Please feel free to bring your own mat, otherwise we’ll have some available to use too. See you there!
Class runs every Monday from 9.30am to 10.30am at the School of Arts Hall.
