Dance movement-, Creative and Body-based Therapists and Healthcare Professionals are invited to a 2- day professional development workshop facilitated by New Zealand based Clinical Psychologist and Dance Movement Therapist Brigitte Puls, with Arjuna Ben Zion Weiss, PhD as musician.

Through embodied, creative exploration and reflection, participants learn new ways to respond to the impact distressing global events are having on our clients and ourselves.

Framed through the lenses of Indigenous (NZ) and Western Models of Wellbeing, Brigitte invites us to embrace these often difficult emotional/ embodied states, and importantly, to move beyond suffering into states of self-agency, wellness and a sense of meaning making. We will work with physical, mental, social- emotional, nature based and spiritual aspects of our identity into Hope and empowerment.

Participants’ learnings are transferrable into personal and global contexts.

The workshop draws on the rich tapestry of body and movement-based practices and understandings that Dance Movement Therapy offers, and includes live music across the weekend.

“Hope is a muscle, a practice, a choice that actually propels new realities into being. It is not the same as idealism or optimism” (Krista Tippett).

This event is for therapists or healthcare professionals.

  • 13 September, 12.30pm to 6pm
  • 14 September, 9.30am to 4.30pm
