In The Titanic Story of Evelyn, journalist and TV presenter Lisa Wilkinson brings together the incredible drama of the sinking of the Titanic and the extraordinary life of Evelyn Marsden, a former Bondi resident and the only Australian-born survivor of the disaster.
Join Wilkinson and fellow media trailblazer Mia Freeman as they discuss this fascinating story of the brave young Australian nurse who wanted to see the world, fell in love, then almost lost it all in one of the greatest maritime tragedies the world has ever known.
Lisa Wilkinson AM is one of Australia's most well-known media identities. The youngest-ever editor of a national magazine, Dolly, at the age of twenty-one, Lisa then spent ten years as editor of the iconic and bestselling Cleo magazine. Television success followed with over a decade as co-host of the Nine Network's Today Show. In 2017, Lisa accepted a new challenge by joining the Ten Network as host of its prime-time award-winning news and current affairs program, The Project. Currently focused on her writing, Lisa is married to journalist and bestselling author Peter FitzSimons. They have three children.
Mia Freedman is the co-founder of Mamamia, Australia's largest women's media company. Launched from her lounge room in 2007, the platform now reaches more than 7.5 million women monthly across 11 touchpoints and boasts a network of over 60 podcasts. A former Editor-In-Chief of Cosmopolitan, Cleo and Dolly magazines, Mia is the author of four best-selling books including her memoir Work Strife Balance, which inspired the hit BINGE TV series Strife. Mia is an Executive Producer on Strife, and a passionate ambassador for RizeUp Australia, supporting women and children escaping domestic violence, with Mamamia proudly serving as the charity's media partner. She co-hosts Mamamia Out Loud, Australia's #1 podcast for women that has had more than 116 million downloads.
