The 2026 World Paddling Film Festival is coming to Bondi Pavilion as its first Australian stop on Wednesday 8 April from 6pm, hosted by Shark Island Paddlers.
Showcasing the very best in paddling storytelling, the festival brings award-winning films from around the globe to local communities. Enjoy a curated selection of short films (2–22 minutes), chosen from more than 800 international entries. Since 2006, the tour has screened over 1,000 times to audiences of 300,000+ worldwide.
Join fellow paddlers, ocean lovers and adventure seekers at one of Australia’s most iconic coastal venues for a night of inspiration, storytelling and community.
Special guest: Sarah Davis – Nile paddling legend
Award-winning adventurer Sarah Davis became the first woman to lead an expedition down the Nile, travelling from source to sea along the world’s longest river. Hear the story behind this extraordinary journey and gain insight into what it takes to complete one of the great adventures on Earth. A live Q&A will follow.
Supported by the Waverley Council Small Grants program, the evening will also feature a local filmmaker competition created especially for this event.
